Ready-to-use marketing plan template

Judging from evaluations of MVDP’s Sept. 22 program, members and guests are interested in marketing their nonprofits more than any other program topic.

Good news: Marketing is on the MVDP calendar for 2012. Mark your calendars; the tentative date is the afternoon of April 26.

Meanwhile, as we plan for 2012, Nancy Schwartz offers a template for nonprofit marketing plans. It’s free. Click here for a link to receive a download.

Here’s a sample from her template:

Goals

Key question—What is your organization’s main goal (1-2 goals)?  What are your communications goals (1-3 goals) and what are the communications goals that will contribute to achieving the overall goal?

Examples:

Organizational goal:

  • Improve community health by significantly reducing exposure to toxic chemicals like lead in homes, bay contamination, and air pollution from trucks, ships, power plants and other sources.

Communications goals:

  • Build awareness about OrgABC’s work and impact.
  • Increase understanding of the relationship between health and the environment.
  • Motivate area residents to advocate.
