Marion-Polk Food Share is setting an example for staying in touch with donors making monthly contributions through its Sustainer Circle.
In each of the last four months an e-mail has landed in the inbox like this one:
Dear (Named Donors),
Your Sustainer Circle gifts are so important to Marion-Polk Food Share and the fight to end hunger. Thank you so much for your generosity and support.
If you are looking for other ways to be involved in the fight to end hunger, now is the time to get involved.
- Interested in organizing a work place food drive? Contact Lindsay Blackman at firstname.lastname@example.org or 503-581-3855 ext. 308.
- Support the work of ending hunger in our community at a special holiday reception and book signing by artist Christopher Marley on December 7th, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Pheromone Gallery, 255 Liberty St. NE. There will be wine, hors d’oeuvres and music. This is a great way to spread the word about the Sustainer Circle with your friends and family.
- On December 10th head to Keizer for the Festival of Lights Parade. This year’s parade starts at 6:30 and is a benefit for Marion-Polk Food Share. Come on down to celebrate the holiday season and support Marion-Polk Food Share.
- Come watch Chef Steve Morton decorate his gingerbread creation for the Gingerbread Gala and make some gingerbread cookies of your own! The afternoon of December 14th will include baking cookies, enjoying a holiday story, and, as we decorate our masterpieces, a visit from The Big Guy. Ages 7 and up. The event is FREE. Class limit: 12 Register by Dec. 12 by calling Kat Daniel at Marion-Polk Food Share, 503-581-3855 ext. 322.
Once again, on behalf of your hungry neighbors and friends in Marion and Polk counties, thank you for your support. Together we will end hunger.
